Latin AS Level
Students will translate from Latin to English and develop their language skills through the
study of set texts.
There is a set vocabulary list for AS Level Latin
There are two papers, which are both sat in the June at the end of the Lower Sixth:
Latin Language: Translation of passages from Latin to English.
50% of AS - 25% of A2 Level
Latin Verse and Prose Literature: Study verse and prose set texts e.g. Ovid and Cicero through
translating and comment on literary techniques.
50% of AS 25% of A2 Level
Latin A2 Level
There are two papers, which are both sat in the June at the end of the Upper Sixth.
Latin Verse: Study of set poets e.g. Catullus, and translation of unseen verse passages with
comprehensions.
50% of A2 - 25% of A Level
Latin Prose
Study of set writers e.g. Tacitus, and translation of unseen prose passages with
comprehensions.
50% of A2 - 25% of A Level
Students will study Latin verse and prose through prescribed set texts and responding to
unseen verse/prose passages through comprehension and translation work.

Explain your answer with reference to the rest of the set text.
