November / December Newsletter 2014
Work is well underway on our new outdoor play area for Reception and
Foundation Stage children which we hope will be ready for use next term. All
proceeds from the Parents Support group fund raising activities this year will go
towards buying new equipment for this area.
Our new school website is now ‘live’ and can be found at www.drumsallenps.co.uk .
You can now check regularly for news, photos and school information.
Benburb Christmas Tree Festival
All pupils are visiting the Christmas Tree Festival in Benburb Presbyterian
Church on Friday 28th Nov from 10 – 11am. Bus transport is provided.
Could all pupils please come in school uniform, not PE kit, for this visit. There
will be no PE on Friday afternoon as the hall will be set up for the Open Morning
on Saturday.
Open Morning
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Open Morning on Saturday 29th
November. Please remember that this is for all our current families as well as
any interested new families in the area.
Enrolment forms for children starting P1 or Reception in September 2015 will
be available on the day.
P4 – P7 Tesco Farm to Fork Project
Mrs McCarragher’s and Mrs Kelly’s classes will be travelling by bus to Tesco
Dungannon on Tuesday 2nd December to find out some more about the journey
of our food. We will be back to school in time for lunch.
Please note the following dates and arrangements as we count down to
Christmas.
Sunday 7th December - Killymaddy Carol Service, 3.00pm followed by tea in
the church. All children are invited to sing in the school choir at this service
and we would appreciate a full attendance. Please come to the church in full
school uniform. Friends and family are all welcome to attend.
10th December -
School meals Christmas Dinner.
Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th December:
Reception – P4 Rehearsal in Drumsallen Church for our Christmas Carol Service.
Can pupils please get dropped off at the church at 9am and we will bring them
back to school in staff cars after the rehearsal. Please speak to the class
teacher if you would prefer to arrange your own transport back to school.
Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th December:
Whole school rehearsal in Drumsallen Church at 9am. School buses will drop off
at the church on these mornings. Transport will also be provided back to school
in time for lunch.
Please note, school finishes early at 1.30pm on Tues 16th to allow pupils time t
rest before the carol service that night.
Tuesday 16th - All family and friends are warmly invited to our
School Carol Service
in Drumsallen Parish Church (kindly granted) at 7pm followed by supper
in the church hall.
The Parents Support Group will be organising the supper to follow the carol
service. Could each family please provide half a loaf of sandwiches and half a
dozen tray bakes as in previous years which may be brought to the hall before
the service.
Wednesday 17th – Whole school trip to Palace Stables, Armagh for “Christmas
Through the Ages” in which we hope to meet a special visitor! This trip costs
£5 per pupil, transport is by bus and we will be back in school in time for lunch.
Thursday 18th and Friday 19th – pupils may come to school in non-uniform.
School closes for Christmas at 11.30am on Friday 19th December.
New term starts at 9am on Tuesday 6th January.
