12th November 2013 Dear Parent Healthy breaks for schools The Department of Education has launched a “Healthy food for healthy outcomes” initiative to promote healthy eating and drinking in schools. I have included a copy of their guidance for pupils and parents. We will be reinforcing the message in school and encouraging pupils to eat a healthy break in the mornings. Your support for this initiative would be much appreciated. We prefer children do not have sweets, chocolate, crisps or fizzy drinks at break time. Bannvale Credit Union Bannvale Credit Union will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with an open day on Saturday, 16th November from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. in the office on Main Street. Parents and children are welcome. A Christmas Carol One of our P5 pupils, Jack Berry, will be performing in a production of “A Christmas Carol” at the Grand Opera House in Belfast. A copy of the leaflet advertising the performance is included and hopefully some of you will be able to attend to support Jack. Yours sincerely R. McClintock
