With so many ‘celebrations’ taking place during these months, our topic for this term will be ‘Let’s Celebrate!’ We will be looking at Bonfire Night, Diwali, Remembrance & Christmas. Mornings; we have been so impressed with how well the children have settled in the morning, and are amazed at the way they are leaving their mums and dad in the morning. Well done everyone! If you are still finding that your child wants you to come in with them to hang up their coat and bag, this term is a good time to start leaving them either in the playground or at the door. Let one of us know if you think you might need an adult to help with this. Show & tell; Thank you all very much for contributing to your super ‘Me boxes’! We really enjoyed the children showing them. This term we would love to see pictures of your family’s celebrations, and to hear about these special times. Please send in some photos (in an envelope with your child’s name on please!) during the week commencing 30th November. Learning Diaries; You are invited into school to share your child’s learning diary with them and look at the wonderful learning they have been doing in school. Please pop in any afternoon during the week of 16th November, from 2.45pm. Nativity; This term the children will be rehearsing and performing a Christmas Nativity. The performance for parents will be on Thursday 10th November, at 9.30am. More information will follow later in the term. Stay & Play; Parents are welcome to stay in school for the first 30 minutes of the day to work alongside the children in the class, and to find out more about the games and activities in school. For this term, this will take place on Mondays (from 16th November). Dates for the diary; Monday 2nd November – Inset Day – school closed to pupils. Wednesday 4th November – Bonfire swap day! Rec, Y1 & Y2 children will be working together in groups learning all about the traditions. around bonfire celebrations. This gives them a chance to meet more children and other members of the FS/KS1 team! Monday 16th November (and each following Monday in T2) – stay & play in the classroom with your child, until 9.30am. Week commencing 16th November – Share learning diaries with your child.
