By the end of this unit of work you will demonstrate your
learning and the progress you have made towards achieving
your aspirational target by:
Describing where people go on holiday and what
they do in the target language. This will encourage
writing and speaking at length in French. This will
involve using opinions and descriptions and
understanding the present, past and future tenses.
The literacy skills you will need to develop and include within
the final assessment of your learning are:
The use of verb tenses adjectives and prepositions.
The understanding of longer texts than previously
seen. The understanding of the present, past and
future tenses.

Module 1
Learning objective: To talk about typical holiday destinations
Literacy focus: Present tense of regular “ – er verbs”
Homework task: Write sentences using the new vocabulary.
Module 2
Learning objective: To discuss accommodation and activities on
holiday. To write and speak in the target language.
Literacy focus: Use of irregular verbs in the present tense( faire
and aller)
Homework task: Complete reading comprehension task

Learning objective: To use the past tense to talk in detail about a
holiday that has already happened.
Literacy focus: Present tense of avoir and être. Past tense of
regular and irregular verbs
Homework task: Learn all new vocabulary/ develop writing to
compare a typical and past holiday.
Learning objective: To learn the vocabulary for the description of
a future holiday. To learn the near future using aller. To
understand the true future tense.
Literacy focus: future tense of verbs
Homework task: Complete a grammar worksheet.

Learning objective: To read and understand formal letters and to
write a letter of complaint following a problematic holiday.
Literacy focus: past and present tenses. Language conventions
of formal letters.
Homework task: To draft a formal letter for correction in class.

Learning objective: To understand articles in French about
holiday destinations in the French speaking world, such as
Guadeloupe.
Literacy focus: reading and listening based around authentic
information.
Homework task: To produce an advertisement for a holiday
