companies in the automotive world has reached a special milestone: The automotive supplier, tire
producer and industrial partner Continental is celebrating 15 years of remarkable and successful
activities in Romania. During this period, thousands of highly skilled people joined the ranks to form
a team of more than 15,000 employees today.
“Today, Continental is one of the largest employers in Romania. It is our highly motivated and
talented team that enabled such a remarkable success within a period of just 15 years. They used
our investment of one billion euros to create maximum value for all our stakeholders, not least for
their families and the communities in which they live. This year, we will continue with our
investment and in so doing hire an additional more than 1,000 new employees in Romania,” said
Dr Elmar Degenhart, Chief Executive Officer of the Continental Corporation.
“One of our team’s most important tasks in Romania is the development of innovative software
solutions for the automotive industry all over the world. As software is the new wheel of our
industry, this is a crucial challenge. Of the same importance are the skills of our teams in R&D
centers and the production areas as the high quality of all our products enables safe, comfortable
