Press Release Continental laid the foundation stone for its Automotive Plant extension in Timisoara Continental Automotive Group invests additional €6 million in Timisoara 4,000 sqm will accommodate high tech equipment and will generate additional 400 new work places Timisoara, August 30 2012. Today, Continental laid the foundation stone for the extension of its Automotive Plant in Timisoara. The 4,000 sqm new production hall will accommodate the growing production activities in the field of automotive electronics and means investments of € 6 million. The automotive plant in Timisoara was officially opened in October 2006 and from the start of production in January 2007, delivered 20 million products, supplying 20 customers in 50 countries. Brand new technologies will be applied and the plant will extend its activity field besides electronics, also to mechatronics. The new facility is planned to be finished by January 2013 and will generate additional 400 new work places to the existing 700, in the next 2 years. “In the last 5 years we been constantly growing our activities based on our high local competency, flexibility and quality and we will continue to increase our engineering and manufacturing capacities in the future..
