1.0 SUMMARY
QA/QC SPECIALIST - This position performs quality assurance and quality control inspections according to
defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical, and electrical measurements. Inspects, checks, tests, and
controls procedures of in-process work, and finished goods in the manufacture of industrial ozone disinfection
equipment. Supports manufacturing, electrical and development processes when needed. The primary focus of
the QA/QC Specialist is to ensure the quality and performance of the company’s finished products,
subassemblies and components.
QA/QC Specialist must have hands on experience and knowledge of electronics, mechanical equipment,
instruments and test equipment in an industrial products manufacturing environment. This position provides
technical support in the quality assurance and quality control processes for products including ozone generators
and oxygen systems, control panels, skid systems with pumps, VFD’s, PLC’s, mass transfer devices and a range
of small and intricate to large and complex subassemblies.
This position requires an individual to work with a minimum amount of supervision. Strong technical skills
will be applied to determine the optimum solution to a task based on Pacific Ozone’s standards for product
excellence. Self motivation is paramount with a continuing effort to be aware of all the aspects and subtleties of
the product line and to be proactive in looking for possible problems or improvements and in proposing
solutions. Must be able to work in a team effort and be able to interface with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing
and Service to support both production and new product development, including product testing and evaluation.
Creates and updates numbers systems, databases. Performs tests and dispositions quality notices working in a
team environment. Attention to detail, communication skills – verbal and written, and organizational skills are
required.
2.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
2.1 Perform the quality assurance and quality control processes in manufacturing.
2.2 Ability to use all common electrical, electronic and pressure testing equipment.
2.3 Review product workmanship, produce labeling and review production documentation.
2.4 Accurately document the results of inspections and testing.
2.5 Maintain written daily log of activities and observations. Perform data entry into serial number
systems and spreadsheets
2.6 Maintain controlled document files and test records in a timely and manner
2.7 Evaluate component problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action
through an MRB process.
2.8 Maintain test equipment and tools in good working condition, scheduled equipment for repair and
perform maintenance or calibration as required.
2.9 Maintain SOP’s for the inspection, QA/QC functions.
2.10 Support Factor Acceptance Testing
2.11 Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
2.12 Work with a technical team to development quality assurance and control processes for high voltage
power supplies and control circuits, reactor cells and other proprietary products.

2.13 Take a “hand-on” approach to support production, development, testing and performance evaluation
2.14 Support manufacturing to resolve problems.
2.15 Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble or build prototypes or products.
3.0 OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
3.1 Participates in value engineering activities as directed.
3.2 Interfaces with Engineering, Production, Inventory Control and Materials.
3.3 Provide reporting as requested by Management.
3.4 Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
4.0 ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Company Director, interacts with Engineering Manager, Production Manager, Materials Manager,
Sales and Marketing, and Accounting departments.
5.0 PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
5.1 Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, movement within office complex production
and warehouse environment.
5.2 Write by hand and keyboard extensively and perform general office functions.
5.3 Ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously.
5.4 Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
5.5 Ability and willingness to travel locally, domestically and occasionally internationally, if requirement.
6.0 JOB CONDITIONS
Warehouse and manufacturing environment, general office. Normal hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
7.0 QUALIFICATIONS
7.1 Degree engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent combination of five years' work experience
and/or military service
7.2 Experience in electrical, process controls, industrial machinery or similar areas.
7.3 Strong understanding of electronics and electrical components.
7.4 Experience in document control and inspection procedures
7.5 Experience in working with MRP/ERP systems
7.6 Experience in manufacturing processes and inventory control
7.7 Solid communication, writing and presentation skills
7.8 Good computer skills with Microsoft Office and equivalent applications
7.9 Must have strong organizational skills and is detail and goal oriented
7.10 Self motivated with the ability to work effectively alone and as a team member.
8.0 OTHER USEFUL QUALIFICATIONS
8.1 Lab View Programming and Data Acquisition Experience an asset
8.2 Experience reading and creating schematics and block diagrams
8.3 Experience writing and reviewing ECNs
8.4 Experience in Solidworks and AutoCAD
