Malleability: Describes the ease an object can be
hammered/forged/pressed or rolled into sheets.
Luster: The brightness of a substance
Metals: Elements, usually solid with a shiny surface,
good conductor of electricity and thermal energy.
Physical Property: Characteristic that can be observed
using the five senses, without changing or trying to
change the composition of a substance.
Physical Change: Change that does not involve the
generation (making) of a new substance.
Conductivity: The ability or power to conduct or
transmit, heat, electricity or sound.
Density: How tightly packed the particles are in a
substance. Mass per unit of volume (D = M/v).
Displacement: Push away; one substance moving
another substance.
Brittle: Breaks easily.
Ductility: Can be pulled into wires.
Non Metals: Elements that are not metal or
metalloids and are mostly gases. They do not conduct
electricity or heat and are not shiny.
Metalloids: An element that has properties of both
metals and non-metals.
Overflow Can: Used to measure volume by water
displacement, can also use a graduated cylinder.
