Graduation day – June 11 at noon. We hope to have everyone in the senior class walk. But between now and then, there are numerous activities that you have to do. I did a phone tree and e-mail to all seniors yesterday. Please check with your parents that they received both of these. If they did not, there is information on the webpage about who to contact to update all information. Keeping up is important. Don’t hang up when you hear me call. Don’t delete e-mails from me. Trust me, I don’t do these for my health. If you are eligible to graduate in January, you’ll need to fill out a form with your Guidance Counselor. After the first couple of weeks – to let things get settled with schedules, make an appointment to complete this form. September 10 – photo day. Mr. Macon has asked that I pass the following on to you. Ladies will need to wear a cami underneath what you regularly wear to school on that Thursday. Lifetouch will be bringing the black drapes for you to wear. You may choose to wear a simple necklace as well. Gentlemen, Lifetouch will have what you need for your photos. These are your yearbook photos, not your cap and gown photos. We will take cap and gown photos in December. Be on the lookout for an e-mail from him regarding how to order senior ads for the yearbook. Senior T-shirt design I’m accepting t-shirt designs through Friday, September 11. There are signs in the halls remind you of deadline. You should also include a design for sweatpants – that is if your class council decides to order these. The shirt design will need to use no more than 2 inks – so be aware of how ink colors limit the design process. Apparel will be going on sale in early October. Senior Picnic October 29 – from 5:30-7:00. We’ll be going to the men’s varsity soccer match afterwards. It’s Senior night and we’ve worked it out to allow seniors in free. To help us know the numbers, you’ll need to sign up with me. We’re working on the sign up process, but you’ll wind up getting a ticket to attend. Parents are helping with this event. We’d love to have a large number of seniors come to the picnic and stay to support the defending state champions. I have talked with parents about giving away some prizes at the half and end of the soccer match. Watch the website, listen to announcements, and look out for an e-mail with more information to come. December 11 On December 11, we will go through Senior Day. This will take all day. Announcements will be ordered, cap and gowns ordered, cap and gown photos taken, class photo taken, diploma verification, etc. Parents are talking about providing breakfast, the school does a lunch for you. In the past, Mr. Martin has allowed students to leave after everything is completed, which is usually around 2:40. Career Center students are to be on this campus that day. Winston-Salem Dash Seniors who make the honor roll the fall semester – and are not early graduates – will be eligible for the annual Dash trip. More information is coming, but this should encourage you to work hard to keep grades up.
