Dear Parents
I am planning a one night residential trip to reinforce our History topics on the invaders to Britain.
The children would greatly benefit from the practical activities and visits to appreciate the Roman
and Anglo-Saxon ways of life and legacies.
The trip will commence on Tuesday 3rd June at 8.45 am and we will return to Sibford on
Wednesday 4th June at 4.00 pm. We shall be travelling in the school mini bus and the cost of the
whole trip will be in the region of £75 per child.
Nick Hadley, who took Year 4 on the same residential visit last year, will be accompanying us.
On Tuesday we will be visiting Yanworth where the children will have a guided tour of Chedworth
Roman Villa and the Corinium Museum in Cirencester, where we can find out more about the
Anglo-Saxons. From there we shall travel to Bath where we will be staying at the YMCA.
On Wednesday morning, after breakfast at the YMCA we shall walk to the Roman Baths for a
teaching session “Roman Life” and a tour of the baths followed by a packed lunch before we make
our way back to Sibford.
I hope all of my class will be able to go on this trip and I would be grateful if you could complete
and return the permission slip below, together with a deposit of £25 by Friday 14th March so that
our accommodation reservation can be confirmed.
