Reduce-Reuse-Recycle:
Students stand in wide circle, arm’s length apart, raising right fist to air saying, “reduce”;
raise left fist to air saying, “reuse”; lowering both arms and forming a circle with their arms
saying, “recycle” while turning their whole body in a circle.
Reduce-Reuse-Recycle
1. Students use felt board, pocket board to sort recyclable, reusable objects with
picture and word cards. Resource here:

2. Students use crayons to trace and color the letter “R” and the recycling symbol
(Attachment B)
Students will group, categorize, describe and compare various recyclable objects
Review and recall the theme of recycling. Reinforce The 3 R’s as a civic responsibility,
necessary due to scarcity and the importance of conservation. Sing the Recycling Song,
(Attachment A) to the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat.
This lesson is meant to be a guide and teachers are welcome to incorporate their own ideas and
