Afghanistan – Badakhshan Province Provincial Disaster Management Committee (PDMC) Meeting Fayzabad on 9 July 2015 Draft Summary Participants: Afghanaid, ANDMA, Concern Worldwide, Dept. of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock; Dept. of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, IOM, NAC, OCHA, WFP Agenda: Flood disaster in Shuhada district, Eawanok village, 110 families affected Discussion: ANDMA briefed on the flood disaster in Eawanok village of Shuhada district and IOM informed about the assessment results. The PDMC agreed on a response plan. Date of flood incident: 7 July 2015 Date of rapid needs assessment: 8 July 2015 Assessment team: Afghanaid, ANDMA, IOM, WFP Assessment results: 1 person dead, 2 persons injured, 6 persons mission. Totally 110 households consisting of 283 families have been affected by the flood. Out of 110 households, 73 houses are completely destroyed, 38 houses severely damaged. 50 km road damaged. 500 jerib agricultural land damaged. 200 livestock dead. Needs: Food, NFI, and emergency shelter (tents) for 110 households (283 families) Response plan: Tents: - ANDMA will provide 50 tents. IOM provides 60 tents. In case there is a need for more tents, IOM can provide 40 more tents. Food: - WFP: WFP will provide 110 food packages for 110 households. According to WFP the 110 food packages will be sufficient for 283 families. ANDMA provides 74 bags of tea, 150 boxes of milk, and 75 boxes of Macaroni. NFI: - IOM will provide 283 NFI kits ANDMA will distribute 15,000 Afs for each completely destroyed house. Distribution plan: A distribution committee will be formed consisting of Provincial Council, ANDMA, Afghanaid, DDA, IOM, and WFP. Picture: IOM
