Find records, use archive offices and library collections. Use and interpret a range of historical records. The course will also look at a wider range of records such Poor Law, Employment, Education and Migration. Put your family history into a social historical context The course will involve some practical work, examining historical records on the internet and in hard copy. The classes will be a mixture of some teacher lead sessions, group discussions, the use of historical records in groups and individual work researching your family history. There will be a visit to the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society. Will I need to work at home? It will certainly help, as you will want to take work home and carry out further research on your own family history research project or visit libraries and use the internet. What else do I need to know?
