Electrical & Mechanical Services Surveyor

Purpose of Job:
Assist with the preparation and delivery of Planned and Programmed installation and
maintenance contracts, ensuring that compliance, efficiency and high standards are
maintained.
Carryout provisional surveys and investigation to assist with Identification and
prioritisation of work programmes.
Undertake site supervision and monitoring of work in progress, liaison with contractors
and tenants for the effective delivery of the works.
Assist with providing responsive repairs and maintenance advice and organising works
orders and validation in relation to communal facilities (Access control, Fire Alarms,
Smoke ventilation, Communal aerials systems, Heating and System controls).
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Carry out surveys and compile information to assist with the preparation of
specifications and other contract documents, including measured surveys.
2. Monitor Contractor / Contract performance, ensuring programmes are adhered
to and targets are met.
3. Review Electrical Certification (DEICR, DEIC) in conjunction with validation of
contractors claims for payment.
4. Undertake site inspections of works in progress, giving advice and assistance
to residents ensuring a degree of tenant satisfaction with the service provided.
5. Maintain accurate records of all site visits, site instructions given, inspections &
handovers, and relevant observations regarding Heath & Safety, monitoring
compliance with Regulations and Specifications etc.
6. Assist and promote consultation with all stakeholders in developing and
implementing projects to achieve best value. Assisting with questionnaires and
satisfaction surveys ensuring a high degree of customer care at all times.

7. Assist with the co-ordination of responsive repair requests in relation to
communal services (Access control, Fire Alarms, Smoke ventilation,
Communal aerials systems, Heating and System controls). Undertake
inspections if necessary, assessing whether repairs are required, specifying
and ordering works through Trent & Dove relevant Maintenance Contractors.
8. To assist as required in the monitoring of service contracts, Liaise as
necessary, carry out inspections on completed works, prior to payment of
invoice, monitoring both the quality and performance to ensure satisfactory
completion of works.
9. To provide technical advice and assistance to other colleagues within the
company, and produce progress reports when requested by the Project
Manager.
10. Flexible to accommodate work constraints and deal with urgent events on site
that require attendance and direction of contractors etc. To participate as
necessary with the Company’s arrangements for dealing with out of hour’s
emergencies.
11. To maintain an awareness and knowledge of changes in Regulations or
Legislation that may affect schemes of work i.e. Health and Safety, Building
regulations, Asbestos Awareness, Case Laws etc.
12. Attend project meetings and participate in working groups or departmental
meetings as required.
13. To undertake such other duties commensurate with the experience of the post
holder and the grading of the post, as determined by the Project Manager the
Asset Manager or the Director of Property Services.
