BIOGRAPHY BOOOK REPORT PROJECT
DUE DATE: FRIDAY, APRIL 27, 2012
Dear Parents and Students,
The final project of the year is upon us. Enclosed is a copy of the information they need to use for this
project. Please put them in a safe place!
Students will be reading a biography of their choice and will present an oral book report, in costume,
based on the enclosed criteria. Students must choose a person who was important to history, and biographies
must be approved by the teacher. They will be graded on their presentation and whether or not they have all
the required elements in their oral report. Another part of their grade will involve students drawing or
downloading a photo of this person from the internet onto an 8 ½” by 11” sheet of paper. On the same page
they need to draw five speech bubbles and write in comments that their biographical person might say about
the following (a sample is enclosed). The speech bubbles MUST be written legibly, in the student’s
handwriting!
Requirements for speech bubbles:
1. Where and when they were born
2. Their education
3. An interesting fact
4. Something about their family
5. Why your person is famous
Students can check out a book from the school or classroom library. They can also get a book from the
public library. Remember their presentation must be made in costume. Costumes can be homemade and
creative (construction paper, felt, cotton balls, etc. can be used to make some amazing costumes). This
assignment is a lot of fun and a great learning experience.
No late reports will be accepted! Students MUST read a biography, no internet reports
allowed.
