MACMILLAN BAKE SALE.
Friday 2nd October

Morning interval
There will be a selection of homemade cakes , cookies and popcorn for sale to raise money for Macmillan who help to
support people with cancer. Please come along and consume some calories to raise as much money as possible.

MUSIC. String orchestra & clarinet quartet rehearsals will take place on Tues lunchtime. Orchestra is on after school
on Tues in the workshop theatre. Full attendance expected unless you have prior permission from Mrs Carberry or
Mrs Black. Texts will be sent to parents/guardians of anyone not present. Ms Carberry.
S4 FOOTBALL TEAM. Could all players in the S4 football team please attend a meeting in Gym 1 at morning
interval today. Thanks Mr Douglas.
MALAWI KRISPY KREME FUNDRAISER. Thank you to all pupils and staff who bought the Krispy Kreme
Doughnuts on Friday 11th September. We raised over £400 to go to the Malawi Fund. Thanks again, Team Malawi

S1-4 GIRLS FOOTBALL. The next league fixture is tomorrow Tuesday 22nd September at Toryglen Regional
Football Centre from 3.05-6.30pm. All pupils who have signed up on the sheet in SS1 must meet in the foyer at the
front office at 3.05pm. Pupils will return to Bannerman at 6.30pm approx. Please bring with PE kit (Bannerman Polo
(or similar), black shorts & football socks, football boots/trainers. Be prepared to play OUTSIDE & INSIDE. Only
pupils who have returned their consent form and signed up, can attend Toryglen this week. Please check by the close
of school today in SS1 if there are more spaces available. All players to attend and any new players can collect a
consent form from SS1. If pupils would like to order a football top, please bring £9 to SS1 ASAP. Miss Reid.
S4-6 MALAWI VISIT. Between 29 September and 8 October, Bannerman will be hosting visitors from Masalani, our
partner school in Malawi. During their time here 3 students will take part in lessons and activities across the school. As
part of their visit we are running some after school trips and it would be great if S4/5/6 pupils could come along too.
The activities are below and pupils should sign up with the teacher named for each activity. PUPILS MUST SIGN
UP AND PAY FOR EACH ACTIVITY BY THURSDAY 24 SEPTEMBER. Thanks, Malawi Team.

MUSIC. Any pupils who enjoy singing and would be interested in starting up a vocal group see Miss Purdie
in music sometime this week.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR S5/6 PUPILS ATTENDING THE UCAS CONVENTION ON TUESDAY 22
SEPTEMBER. The bus will leave school at 10.30 am sharp on Tuesday. Please note that you will NOT be allowed
on the bus without having returned a consent form and your personal e-ticket. Any problems, please see Mrs
Mulholland in E10 at Tutor Time on Monday.
FRUIT MARKET VISIT. I will be taking my Nat 5 Hospitality pupils (all S5) to the Fruit Market on Thursday 1st
October. They will be leaving the school at 6.00 am ( yes 6.00 am) and should be back rather bleary eyed around tutor
time. They do not have permission to go home due to tiredness so should be at all classes as normal. Apologies in
advance if they fall asleep in class. Mrs Bain.

TUTOR TIME - THEME OF THE MONTH – CITIZENSHIP. In tutor time you will be continuing the
Rights Respecting School materials. S2 tutor classes will be in the ICT rooms researching their YPI project.

S4 MALAWI FUNDRAISER – FAST ON THURSDAY 24 SEPTEMBER. All pupils who are taking part in the fast
must bring in their completed forms and sponsorship money on Thursday 24 September. If you would still like to
take part please collect a sponsorship form from SS1. On the day of the fast pupils are welcome to sit in SS1 at
