Bannerman High School is fortunate to be welcoming back the From Yesterday, For Tomorrow charity organisation for pupils in S2. FYFT is a vibrant, young team who work with pupils from selected schools to educate pupils about the Holocaust and modern-day prejudice while exploring the impact this has on people and societies. FYFT will be in the school delivering workshops to all pupils in S2 on Wednesday 27th January to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day. There are two sessions running during the day. The first session runs from 9.10am – 11.55am for sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.4 and 2.7. Pupils should register with their period 2 and 4 teachers and then be accompanied by their teacher down to the workshop theatre. The second session runs from 11.55am- 3.05pm for sections 2.3, 2.5 and 2.6. Pupils should register with their period 5 and 6 teachers and be escorted down to the Workshop Theatre. Could teachers who are due to teach these sections during all of these periods go to the Workshop Theatre to help supervise. Any member of staff who is available at these times is more than welcome to along and see the work that the FYFT does with students across Scotland. Pupils have been told it is their responsibility to catch up with any work missed. If there are any problems at all, please don’t hesitate to speak to Miss McDonald or Ms Panaretou. LGBTI+ GROUP. LGBTI+ group will meet each Thursday lunchtime, starting again on Thursday 28th January in Lab 5 (Mrs Shah’s room). This is a final reminder that ALL yearbook £10 deposits MUST BE PAID by 29th January. We will be discussing how this is displayed and what we as a school could do to ensure that this does not take place. Miss Morton. S1-4 GIRLS FOOTBALL. The next league fixture of this term is on Tuesday 2 February at Toryglen Regional Football Centre from 3.05-6.30 pm. All pupils who would like to play MUST sign up on the sheet in SS1 by Friday 29 January. Please bring with your Bannerman Girls Football top and PE kit (Bannerman Polo (or similar), black shorts & football socks, football boots / trainers. Be prepared to play OUTSIDE and INSIDE. This week all extra curricular sports clubs will be back to their normal times: Football Academy The Bannerman Football Academy will have a game on Thursday 28th January. Can all Academy players attend a team meeting on Wednesday 27th January at morning interval in Gym 2 with Mr Pattison. Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics The Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics takes place in the Emirates Arena on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th Feb. Can the following competitors please see Ms Pearson during tutor time or morning interval this week. Glasgow Schools Cross Country Championships Can anyone wishing to be entered into the Glasgow Schools Cross Country Championships please see Ms Pearson before Tuesday morning. UNDER 14’s FOOTBALL TEAM. There will be a short meeting for the under 14’s football team on Monday 25th January at 10.50-11.05 (break) to discuss the Scottish cup match on Tuesday.
