S2 – YOUTH AND PHILANTHROPY INITIATIVE. There is an assembly for all S2 Wednesday P7 to find out
about the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI). You should register with your teacher and then they will
accompany you to the Workshop Theatre. Mr de Smith.
S2 FOOTBALL TEAM. A list of all of the players who have succeeded in selection for this seasons S2 football team
has been posted outside of SS10. Training sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 3.05 - 4.05pm on the
pitch/Games hall. In addition, there will be weekly meetings during interval on Monday mornings beginning today
Monday 14th September in SS10. All players must attend. Thanks Miss Martin.
S1-4 GIRLS FOOTBALL. The next league fixture is on Tuesday 22nd September at Toryglen Regional Football
Centre from 3.05-6.30pm. All pupils who have signed up on the sheet in SS1 must meet in the foyer at the front office
at 3.05pm. Pupils will return to Bannerman at 6.30pm approx. Please bring with PE kit (Bannerman Polo (or similar),
black shorts & football socks, football boots / trainers. Be prepared to play INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. Only pupils who
have returned their consent form and signed up, can attend Toryglen. All players to attend and any new players can
collect a consent form from SS1. If pupils would like to order a football top, please bring £9 to SS1 ASAP. Miss Reid
MUSIC. If any pupil wants to learn a brass instrument please see Miss Ramsay in the music department before this
Thursday to organise an audition!
GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP NIGHT WEDNESDAY 7th OCTOBER. Please read out to pupils and encourage them to
come. Thanks, Mrs Shah.

MUSIC DEPARTMENT. Clarinet Quartet will be on in Music Rm 3 at lunchtime on Tuesday. String Orchestra will
be on in the Workshop Theatre at lunchtime on Tuesday. Orchestra will be on in the Workshop Theatre after school
on Tuesday – all brass, woodwind & string players should attend unless they have prior permission from Mrs Carberry
or Mrs Black.
S4 MALAWI FUNDRAISER – FAST. Please send all return slips to take part in the fast to Miss Reid in SS1 by
Friday 18th September. You will then be issued with a sponsor form that must be brought back on the day of the Fast
(Thursday 24th September) with all sponsor money. Miss Reid
S4-6 MALAWIAN PUPIL VISIT. Between 29 September and 8 October, Bannerman will be hosting visitors from
Masalani, our partner school in Malawi. During their time here the 3 students will take part in lessons and activities
across the school. As part of their visit we are running some after school trips and it would be great if S4/5/6 pupils
could come along too. The activities are below and pupils should sign up with the teacher named for each activity.

TUTOR TIME - THEME OF THE MONTH – CITIZENSHIP. This week we will be looking at materials on Rights
Respecting Schools. All year groups have been working on this in PSE and we will now be creating our school charter
based on UNCRC. This is a chance for you all to contribute to our school gaining our Rights Respecting School Level
1 Award! Miss Morton.
S1 AFTER SCHOOL COOKERY CLUB. Any pupil wishing to join this after school club must come and see Mrs
McGowan in HE4 at interval today. Spaces will be limited on this club. Mrs McGowan .
