Grant, SSPD Monthly Statistics: Arrests: 7 Citations Issued: 15 Reports: 130 Calls for Service: 79 On Call, Call Outs: 3 Want & Warrant Checks: 45 Officer Initiated Investigations: 74 Field Interviews: 36 Medical Assist: 4 CSU Vacation House Checks: 61 CSU Infrastructure Checks: 15 CSU Welfare Check: 2 SSPD Officers placed two adult males and one adult female under arrest for DMV fraud (illegal vehicle sales) in Stallion Springs. This was the culmination of a lengthy investigation whose nexus was numerous complaints regarding the subjects activities throughout the Tehachapi area. An SSPD officer responded to a call at a local Stallion Springs business regarding a subject who defrauded the innkeeper. The officer located the adult male subject in Stallion Springs and placed him under arrest. SSPD officers performed a probation search of a residence in Stallion Springs and placed the occupants under arrests for various violations. An SSPD officer issued an Animal Nuisance warning for a habitually barking dog in Stallion Springs. SSPD completed the final phase of a communications grant and was informed that we will be receiving 6 new police radios free of charge. An SSPD officer responded to a call of juvenile narcotics use in Stallion Springs. The officer located and detained the juveniles, recovering narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing. During a theft investigation in Stallion Springs, SSPD officers arrested a juvenile male, resident of Sacramento, for an outstanding felony warrant. Page |2 SSPD received numerous calls regarding loose cattle on private Stallion Springs properties. Officers were able to contact the ranch owner who then rustled up his cattle with hired hands. California Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) performed an inspection of SSPD’s records. SSPD passed the inspection and was found to be within POST guidelines. An SSPD officer was called out while off duty for a loud party in Stallion Springs. The officer advised the homeowner to shut down the party and gained compliance. SSPD officers responded to an alarm call in Stallion Springs. Officers found the home to be unsecure and cleared the home, determining that there was no evidence of burglary. An SSPD officer responded to a call of a suicide female juvenile. The officer provided counseling to the juvenile and directed the mother to immediately transport her daughter to a mental health facility in Bakersfield. SSPD responded to a high number of calls during late hours which included a fist fight, barking dogs, loud parties, suspicious vehicles and people, and vicious loose dogs. An SSPD officer completed a courtesy traffic collision report for a Stallion Springs resident who hit a deer (or rather, the deer ran into the citizen’s car)… SSPD officers responded to a call of an adult male trespass suspect in Stallion Springs. Officers searched the area and located the subject. Officers issued the subject a Trespass Warning on behalf of the homeowners. During a traffic stop for various vehicle code violations in Stallion Springs, an SSPD officer placed the adult male driver under arrest for driving without a valid driver’s license. An SSPD officer responded to a domestic dispute over child custody in Stallion Springs. The officer kept the peace, facilitating the child custody exchange. An SSPD officer responded to a call of door-to-door sales subjects in Stallion Springs. During the investigation, the officer identified all of the subjects and issued a citation. All of the subjects were instructed as to proper identification and licensing for door-to-door sales. An SSPD officer was asked to assist in the search for a hiker at Mountain Park. After approximately four hours, the hiker was located and found to be safe but exhausted. During a traffic stop for speeding in Stallion Springs, the officer placed the driver under arrest for driving under a suspended license. SSPD officer performed internal training in professionalism, tactics, and image. SSPD officers received California POST certified Crisis Intervention Training from the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. This 40 hour course was free of charge. SSPD officers performed internal training on Proposition 47 issues.
