The Stallion Springs Police Department, Stallion Spring Police Community Services Unit
(SCU), and the Stallion Springs Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), received a
written “Thank you” in the Tehachapi Newspaper for their assistance with the Cummings
Valley Elementary School 5K run. SSPD, CSU, and CERT worked together as a cohesive team,
including the Bear Valley Police Department, and the Kern County Fire Department, to
provide traffic safety for the event
An SSPD officer responded to a call of publicly intoxicated subjects at the Horsethief
Country Club in Stallion Springs. During the investigation, the officer located three
suspicious subjects. An adult female subject was arrested for alcohol related charges, and
all of the subjects were issued SSPD Trespass Warning Citations
An SSPD officer responded to a call of a suicidal juvenile male in Stallion Springs. The officer
discovered that the male had attempted suicide in the recent past and was now making
suicidal statements. The officer transported the subject to a mental evaluation facility in
Bakersfield
While on routine patrol, an SSPD officer observed trespass subjects at the Stallion Springs
Resort timeshares. The officer detained the subjects and placed them under arrest for
trespassing and minors in possession of alcohol
An SSPD officer received a loud music call at the Stallion Springs Community Center. The
officer responded and observed a highly intoxicated juvenile on the premises. The officer
placed the subject under arrest and had the music turned off at the event

An SSPD officer responded to a battery just occurred call in Stallion Springs. The officer
contacted the parties involved and learned the dispute was over a reported speeding
vehicle. A citizen wanted to place the other party under citizen’s arrest for battery, and the
officer did so
An SSPD officer responded to a call of a suicidal adult male in Stallion Springs who had
attempted to hang himself and was now fleeing the home. The officer contacted the
reporting person who stated she had found the male subject hanging from a tree and had
cut him down. She went on to state that the suicidal subject informed her he was going to
kill himself by “jumping in front of a train”. The SSPD officer advised outside agencies of the
subject’s description and his intentions to harm himself. The subject was located by an
outside agency by the Tehachapi railroad tracks and transported to the Tehachapi hospital.
The SSPD officer placed a mental evaluation hold on the subject
Two separate Stallion Springs residents reported that they were victims of credit card fraud.
During each investigation, an SSPD officer discovered that unknown subjects had utilized
their credit card information to make fraudulent purchases out of state
The SSPD received additional reports of an “IRS phone scam” in which the victim is
telephoned by a false IRS agents claiming the victim owes the IRS back taxes or that they are
“fraudulent” (whatever that means…). If the victim refuses to pay, the false agent states
that a warrant will be served on the victim’s home and they will be arrested. The scams
intent is to attain credit card information from the victim
An SSPD officer responded to a prowler call at a Stallion Springs residence. The officer
discovered that an unknown suspect entered the yard of the victim’s property and
attempted to force open a secured sliding glass door with their hands. The prowler was
scared off by the home owner but a description could not be attained
An SSPD officer responded to a call of burglary from a vehicle at Horsethief Park. The officer
found that the victim had left his vehicle parked at Horsethief Park after hours (in violation
of the posted sign). When the victim returned to his vehicle, he discovered that one of his
vehicle windows was smashed and property had been removed. The investigation is
ongoing
SSPD officers received safe driving training during the month of June
Sergeant Gary Crowell successfully graduated from California Peace Officers Standards and
Training Management School, a comprehensive 3 week program. This course is
reimbursable through the state of California
SSPD officers responded to a verbal dispute in front of the community center. Officers kept
the peace and separated the parties. Officers warned one of the parties regarding future
disturbances
While on routine patrol, an SSPD officer observed a male subject using a propane torch
device to burn weeds on his property in Stallion Springs. The officer contacted the Kern
County Fire Department who responded and hosed down the field. The officer issued a
written warning regarding the incident

During a consensual encounter with a pedestrian in Stallion Springs, an SSPD officer
discovered the subject was a registered sex offender and attained his information
The SSPD received two complaints regarding speeding vehicles on St. Andrews drive. SSPD
officers dedicated limited time to traffic enforcement on various days
SSPD has received numerous complaints regarding cell phone use of drivers in Stallion
Springs. During the month of July, the SSPD will be on the look-out for cell phone use while
driving and attempt to educate the public with informational handouts. During the month
September, the SSPD will begin enforcement actions for cell phone use while driving
Aggressive coyotes were reported by residents in the area of Gleneagle Dr. and Shannon Ct.
SSPD contacted California Fish and Wildlife who then contacted a biologist regarding the
issue
SSPD has received countless complaints regarding stop sign violations at Stallion Springs Dr.
and Banducci Rd.
SSPD received complaints from Horsethief Golf Course staff regarding people trespassing
onto the golf course. SSPD issued several trespass warnings to subjects on the staff’s behalf
SSPD received a complaint from a Stallion Springs resident regarding unsafe drivers entering
the roadway from Grimmway Farms properties. SSPD made contact with Grimmway
supervision and informed them of the issue. Supervision stated that they will speak with
their employees
SSPD officers have begun issuing warning citations for subjects fishing at Horsethief Lake
without SSCSD fishing permits
