Alibis: Essays on Elsewhere By André Aciman K. Waller 2014 Creative Assignment Working in partners, choose an essay to respond to and interpret creatively. Each essay can only be selected once, and you may not choose “Parallax” or “Place des Vosgues,” which we will look at together. To begin, please deeply annotate the text – look up all allusions, search for literary terms, and develop an understanding of the theme of the essay. The creative interpretation may be as follows (choose 1): A website or wordpress/tumblr blog with links to different allusions, visual representations of the text, and including several quotes from the texts. A graphic representation of the essay: graphic novel, paintings, photograph book. This should use several quotes as well in connection to the images. A sculpture representing the topography of the essay. It may be several sculptures or one very intricate one. You should have an accompanying board of some sort that also uses several quotes from the text. You will give a short presentation on your creative piece to the class. It should be no more than 5 minutes and explain both the quotes you have selected and the particular theme(s) you have conveyed. The grade will be out of 7 based on criteria A and B for the IOC.
