PARISH COUNCIL The next meeting will be on Monday 22nd June at 7.00pm. If you have any items for the Agenda please forward them to the office. SVP We are collecting unwanted toiletries to donate for First Stop who are running a tombola stall at the Darlington Carnival on 27 June. First Stop is a local Darlington charity which helps people in need especially in preventing homelessness. WELCOME to Fr Jim O’Keefe who will be at the 9.15am and 11.00am Mass this Sunday to give an outline of the programme. In the Darlington Deanery all members of every Parish Council, Finance Committee, School Governing Body, all Extra-ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Parish Administrators/Secretaries, SVP Groups, together with Clergy are invited to convene at Carmel Academy on Thursday 18th June at 7.00pm to discuss the next phase. PROCLAIM 15 Every parish is invited to offer a prayer vigil for the work of evangelisation in England and Wales. The evenings of prayer are scheduled to take place on/near Saturday 11th July 2015 when there is the National Catholic Evangelisation Conference - Proclaim 15 - in Birmingham. Please join a network of intercessors across our countries to pray for the building of missionary parishes, and also, as the delegates return home to share with others what they have received and learnt, that the National Conference will bear much fruit. A prayer vigil l is being held at St Augustines starting on Friday 10th July after the 7pm Mass. Any groups eg: Cafod, SVP, prayer groups willing to present an hour please contact Anne Connor 01325 260980. A list for individuals to sign up for a one hours slot will be available later. Please remember in your prayers those who are going to be ordained into the Permanent Diaconate on Saturday 27th June 2015 - Paul Hargreaves, Jeffrey Parkes, Anthony Turner, & Michael Wood. Also pray for John Bagnall who will be ordained into the Priesthood on Saturday 4th July 2015. The Lay Training Fund will remain open until 21 June. PARISH PRAYERS There is a box at the back of Church if anybody has any prayer intentions they wish to include in the parish bidding prayers which are read out at all the Sunday Masses. CAFÉ COURSE The next session of “Believe” will be on Wednesday 8th July at 7.30pm finishing about 8:45pm and held in St Augustines Parish Centre. All are welcome. WANTED "HOST FAMILIES" for the Pearl of Africa Children’s Choir between 27th September and 4th October as part of its annual fundraising tour. They require host families to put up two members. Here’s looking at you kid… (clue) LINE DANCING CLASSES One thing Darlington has been lacking is a line dancing class just for BEGINNERS. No longer! One of the best line dance teachers in the North East is willing to come to our Parish Centre to teach us. So, Gents and Ladies… we are looking at Friday evenings if possible, so would you like to come and get some exercise, have a lorra lorra laughs and then celebrate your progress with a drink at the bar!
