PE and Sport Premium for Primary Schools
Review of the first year’s use of funding.
Background
The Government allocated funding to schools with the aim of ‘Getting more people playing
sport’.
Tracey Marshall was employed from September 2013 for two years shared by a partnership
of schools to up skill school staff and raise the profile of PE and Sport. The schools in the
partnership are: Rokeby Park Primary, Sidmouth Primary, Newland St John CE Primary,
and St. Nicholas Primary. She works at Rokeby every Tuesday.
Teaching
Tracey has supported the following classes and staff:
Year 6 – Miss East
Year 5- Mrs. Roantree
Year 4- Mrs. Wilkinson
Year 1/2 – Miss McHugh.
She has been observed teaching by the teachers, she has team taught with them and she
has observed the teacher’s teaching. Her record of support is complete and she has
reported that the teaching in Y4 + Y5 is outstanding.
This year she has taught
 Gym
 Multi skills
 Dance
 Basketball
 Rounders
 Athletics
Tracey has raised the profile of PE by putting up sports displays and information around the
school. She has also audited and organised resources.
Tracey has ensured that all staff are working towards the National Curriculum targets and
the pupils know what they have to do to succeed. The Director of Education commented on
his recent visit that Rokeby Park was the first school he had visited that had PE levels on
display.
Next Year she will support and train:
YR – Mrs. Wyatt
Y2 – Mrs. Harrison (PE leader)
Y3 – Miss Hall
Y6 – Miss Stainton (Schools Direct Student)
In this way she will have up skilled the majority of our staff.
Accountability
Tracey has been observed by two governors, Mr Gordon and Mr. Shepherd. Mr. Gordon
teaches PE at Sirius Academy and Mr. Shepherd is a qualified football referee. She
reported that they found her lesson to be outstanding.
Sports clubs and competitions

Tracey has run a Football Club which was very well attended. The school entered a
Hull Schools competition and we are proud to say we came second place.
She ran a Rounders club and the school came 3rd in a Hull competition in a recent
event at St. Mary’s.
She took the pupils to an athletics competition called Quad Kids. The school came

The school also took part in Commonwealth Games athletics at Costello Stadium and
went to the KC Stadium to watch the Squash and participate in training sessions with
