EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: We have been asked to summarise the e-government plans and progress of Salford City Council according to the six part model of the local e-organisation, as presented in the ODPM’s National Strategy for Local e-Government published in November 2002 (see www.localegov.gov.uk/nationalstrategy). The model provides a checklist of work areas against the e-organisation themes, or building blocks of local egovernment - interactions, access channels, trust & connections, enablers, e-business and organisational development. We are also asked to complete the e-enablement table using the definition of Best Value Performance Indicator (BVPI) 157 for Electronic Service Delivery , to indicate our progress government targets. In addition the IEG3 has requested information about transaction volumes, our use of the National Projects, and our financial position. Publication of the IEG3 has to be by the 10th November, at which stage it is assessed for suitablity and compliance before funding is allocated. Many officers from every directorate have been consulted and have contributed towards the production and validation of this statement.
