TITLE: Salford Enterprise XP Solution
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that Lead Members give approval to the solution as a way forward
for the Council for its Desktop and Mobile Environment. Members are also asked to
give backing for the first module to begin the testing phase with NPHL and discussion
to commence with Directorates for a Council wide rollout
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Council currently has a number of different Operating Systems and Microsoft
Office Applications running on PCs. The current environment is difficult to support
and enhance because of the lack of standardisation. The Salford Enterprise XP
solution will replace the current Desktop and Mobile Environment with standardised
hardware, operating systems and integrated collaborative working tools which will
enable employees to work together efficiently and effectively.
