Director, Net Solutions

FUNCTION:
Direct the management and development of web based business solutions for the
University of Texas at Arlington.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess business problems and recommend programmatic solutions. Work with
programmers to design solutions and delegate and manage the workload to implement
that solution. Responsible for reconciliation of the budget. Oversee the purchase of
supplies, reviews and approves staff purchases. Responsible for running five plus Mac
servers and for server administration

REPORTS TO: Executive Director for Business Services
SUPERVISES: Number of employees supervised (non-students): 4

INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a
system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department
operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department
financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws,
regulations, policies, and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
May require light travel, nights and weekends.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science field, or closely related field. Three years of
experience in a related area. Prefer a minimum of 2 years supervisory or management
experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be
substituted as appropriate.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Specific job requirements or physical location of some

thereby subject to the provisions of Section §51.215 Texas Education Code.
