Thanks to all of the families that made it to Parent
Conferences. We know it can tough to fit in, but it really sends
a strong message of support for the efforts of our staff with
your student. Look for progress reports before President’s Day
in February for 3rd quarter grades.

Are you the parent or neighbor of a student that will attend
Edison for Kindergarten for next year. Help us get the word out
to get them registered for Kindergarten. It helps us to have an
accurate count for enough teachers to be hired.
If a child turns 5 before August 31, 2014, they are eligible to
register for Kindergarten. Families will need their current shot
record for review, proof of address and a birth certificate to
complete their registration. Many students need updated shots
to start school in the fall of 2014.
If a student has a birthday between September 1 and December
31, 2014, they can try to test in the summer for placement if the
parent thinks they could be ready for class. Edison only offers
a full-day Kindergarten program.
Families will need to register to be scheduled for testing in May
and June. You cannot retest if a students does not earn a
passing score. MPS tracks test results so families cannot go to
multiple sites to test. Students must earn a qualifying score on
the testing to attend if they miss the August birthday deadline.
Edison will be registering students during this week and
continuing until school starts again in August.
