Our PTO sponsored Family Reading Night in February
and we had a great turnout for the activities and Book Fair. We want to
give a special thanks to Mrs. Hall for all of her extra work to make the
sales a success. She stepped up and ran things when she saw a need. I
hope you got to enjoy the cookies, stories and books. Edison is lucky to
have such great parental support for our students. Thanks also to our
staff that helped make the night fun for all.
Picture Day will be March 27th. Class pictures, club
pictures and individuals will be taken that day. Yearbooks will be
sponsored by PTO again this year and offered in May.

listening skills, vocabulary development and story comprehension skills.
Experts agree that reading with kids for 15-30 minutes daily can make a huge
impact on academic needs later in life. Reading helps them to identify letter
sounds and language patterns. Guided questioning about the story and
characters help students develop critical thinking skills that apply to all areas
of school.

Plan a summer of reading for your family. We will have our school library

from 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. daily. The City of Mesa Library allows families to
check out books to all ages. See the schedule of hours in the calendar area.
