III Agenda Items

1. Data warehouse discussion

Prototype of data warehouse website was reviewed and discussed by team. To expedite the development, Mae had taken what Brent had developed for EP website and added business analyst links and documents to the website. She had sent the link out to the team and asked for feedback and ideas of how to organize the website. As the website was not published out yet the team could provide feedback as changes were quite easy to make using the CMS system. Andy contributed by developing a datawarehouse logo which will be incorporated on the website. The contents of the website can easily be modified based on tea m’s needs.

Mae asked Janice if she could provide a brief history write-up so we can post on the website for project background.

2. Training Details

Team was asked to provide detailed topics of what they wanted to be covered in core team training. Mae merged what Janice and Komal came up with as training needs and sent to Yiorgos.

3. Statuses from members

Komal - working on EP security. Trying to emulate Active Directory like security so that we will have an easier time maintaining the security roles. Security at business presentation views and not at package level. Komal will show an overview of the security set up next week to core team. Working with Rob on security capabilities.

Will need to re-do the security for EP when its convenient; will need to schedule time with Brent to do this.

Andy - The ETL testing with 9.0 surfaced 5 errors. It appears it may be an existing error even in the 8.9 database. It appears that the database Phytorion is using sa89par2 had really old data. Once it was refreshed the same problem surfaced there as well. Andy will send

Brent the SQLs regarding the course attributes so Brent can determine which of the multiple rows to be used. It appears that this is a known problem – regarding getting multiple rows of data. While OAS can run queries to find these and fix in PS, we should perhaps have the ETL code “smart” enough to know which one to use should it encounter this issue going forward.

Janice- Working towards completing validation of data warehouse data. Finance/HR is about 99% completed. AS, Student Financials,

A&R applications is completed. She is still finishing up on 320.

She asked whether the validation of the tutorials delivered by Phytorion was completed. Komal will set up a meeting to go over this with Brent and Janice next week so we can sign off on this item.

4. Brent - will be working on providing next round of EP data shortly to

Deans.

IV. Adjournment

Mae adjourned the meeting at approximately 12:30 pm. The next meeting will be in 1 week.
