Classroom Activity Classroom Environment Classroom Expectations Feedback & Evaluation Homework & Out-of-Classroom Learning Experiences Briefly describe the activity/strategy, providing enough detail so that a colleague can replicate the activity/strategy. 1. Introduction I asked students to form group of four, then I discussed with the students about their success at school. I asked them to list the characteristics of a successful student on a piece of paper. 2. Set-up & Supplies Notepad and pen 3. Directions Go over the list you have created and see how many of those characteristics you possess. Then I asked them to discuss that with their team members and see if they can develop skills/characteristics they lack What worked well? The end result was amazing. Everybody seemed to love the idea. All agreed that it was so hard to start the affirmation, but once they got involved, they could not stop. Working as a team in this activity worked very well What would you change? I would provide more formal tools for students to list their characteristics, like cardboard. Would you use the activity/strategy again? Why or why not? Yes, because all students enjoyed the activity, despite of some resistance at first. Students became more friendly with one another afterward Please describe any student learning and/or changes that you observed after the implementation of the activity/strategy. I told students that I expect students to perform according to the end results of their affermation and I did. I questioned students about their absences and missed homework when they missed days/homework. This resulted in a high attendance rate and more positive energy for the students
