Briefly describe the activity/strategy.
1. Introduction:
Please describe the activity as if you were explaining it to a colleague who is not
familiar with the strategy. Include: What activity you chose, why you chose that
activity and what you hoped to accomplish. This is your opportunity to take the
generic structure introduced at On Course and explain how you adapted it to your
specific class.
2. Setup & Supplies:
Please include all materials and set up necessary to implement the activity. In
other words, if you were writing this as a lesson plan for a colleague, what would
they need before, during, and after the activity to implement it successfully?
3. Directions:
Write out the directions to your colleague and explain how to implement the
activity. This can be written in bullet point or step-by-step instructions. If there are
specific directions given to the students, you should include them in this section.
What worked well? Please discuss the elements of the activity that worked well. You
may include all aspects of implementation including the set-up, delivery & evaluation of
the activity. This will assist your colleagues who are interested in duplicating your
strategy.
What would you change? Please include your learnings in this section. What might you
have done differently to produce a more desired outcome? How might it work better
next time? This section provides you an opportunity to reflect on the implementation of
your strategy and analyze its effectiveness. It will ALSO assist your colleagues when
they implement the strategy.
Would you use the activity/strategy again? Why or why not? This is a simple "yes" or "no"
question. It is also an opportunity for you to reflect on the process and explain the
overall experience with the activity.
Please describe any student learning or changes that you observed after the implementation
of the activity/strategy: This section provides you an opportunity to reflect on student
learning. You may choose to do an informal discussion after the activity and include the
verbal feedback that you received in this section. If you utilized the student surveys for
this activity, please take a moment to review the results and include any analysis in this
report. You may also include classroom observations, such as the level of engagement
as well as actual content data based on the material that was covered during the activity
(i.e. test results after a peer quiz).
