automated multi-head scale for operation; operate and monitor
an automated multi-head scale; and shutdown an automated
multi-head scale in a dairy processing operation.

1
Definitions
Organisational requirements refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures,
which are documented in memo and/or manual format and are available in the
workplace. These include but are not limited to site-specific and company standard
operating procedures (SOP), occupational health and safety, food safety and quality
management requirements.
Multi-head scale equipment refers to an automated multi-head scale for weighing
cheese which includes but is not limited to – a main feeder system, linear feeders,
feed buckets, weigh buckets, memory buckets, bucket actuator units, collating
chutes, collection chute and collection gates controlled by a computer which
calculates possible combinations among product weigh and/or memory buckets to
select a combination closest to the target weight.
Materials refer to single cheese and multiple cheese blends such as Mozzarella,
Cheddar, Colby, Parmesan, and Shreddar (low fat).
Processes refer to batch or continuous and apply to single or multiple product
specifications or types.

Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.

Prepare an automated multi-head scale for operation.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Materials meet operating requirements.
1.2
Cleaning and maintenance requirements and status are identified and
confirmed according to organisational requirements.
1.3
Scale equipment components and related attachments are fitted and adjusted
to meet organisational requirements.
1.4
Processing and/or operating parameters are entered as required to meet safety
and organisational requirements.
1.5
Equipment performance is checked and adjusted according to organisational
requirements.
1.6
Pre-start checks are carried out to meet organisational requirements.
Outcome 2
Operate and monitor an automated multi-head scale in a dairy processing operation.
Evidence requirements
2.1
The automated multi-head scale is started and operated according to
organisational requirements.
2.2
Equipment is monitored to identify variation in operating conditions according to
organisational requirements.
2.3
Variation in equipment operation is identified and maintenance requirements
are reported according to organisational requirements.
2.4
The process is monitored to confirm that product weights and line-flow rate
meet specifications according to organisational requirements.
2.5
Out-of-specification product and/or process outcomes are identified and
rectified or reported to maintain the process within specification, according to
organisational requirements.
2.6
Workplace housekeeping standards meet organisational requirements.
2.7
Workplace records are maintained according to organisational requirements.

3.1
The shutdown procedure is identified in accordance with organisational
requirements.
3.2
The automated multi-head scale is shutdown according to organisational
requirements.
3.3
Maintenance requirements are identified and reported according to
organisational requirements.
