Explanatory notes 1 Definitions Exceptions and additional sales refer to customer requirements that are provided in addition to the products usually provided for a customer; Global dairy supply chain refers to the process of manufacturing, sourcing, and supplying dairy products internationally; Master data refers to the specific customer details and material data that support transactional processing; Organisational requirements refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures, which are documented in memo and/or manual format and are available in the workplace. These include but are not limited to – site-specific and company standard operating procedures, occupational health and safety requirements, food safety and quality management requirements, specifications, production schedules and instructions, manufacturer’s advice, standard forms and reports. 2 Legislation relevant to this unit standard includes but is not limited to – Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992; Animal Products Act 1999; and Animal Products (Dairy) Regulations 2005. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Explain the role of master data in the sales order process for a global dairy supply chain. Evidence requirements 1.1 Types of master data and their purpose and functions are explained in accordance with organisational requirements. Range 1.2 includes but is not limited to – significance of partner functions, set-up and maintenance. The concept of international commercial terms is explained in terms of its relationship to the global dairy sales process. Range global requirements may include but are not limited to – multiple languages, multiple time zones, product availability, source markets, cost, supply, shipping, international currencies; evidence is required for a minimum of two different global requirements. Outcome 2 Create and manage sales orders for a global dairy supply chain. Range evidence is required for a minimum of three different global dairy sales orders. Evidence requirements 2.1 The process for creating global dairy sales orders, their purpose, and the information required are identified and described in accordance with organisational requirements. 2.2 Global dairy sales orders are created in accordance with organisational requirements. 2.3 Sales order deliveries are managed in accordance with organisational requirements. Range 2.4 includes but is not limited to – creating the delivery documentation; evidence is required for a minimum of three different sales order deliveries. Exceptions and additional sales order customer requirements are processed in accordance with organisational requirements. Range includes but is not limited to – conditions under which exceptions and additional offerings are granted, issuing processing documentation, making manual requests, updating ancillary data and costings, managing amendments and changes, processing letters of credit, recording delivery failures; evidence of a minimum of three exceptions and additional customer requirements is required.
