People credited with this unit standard are able to: select a storage system for automotive parts; select a stock control system; select a stock security system; demonstrate knowledge of system installation and arrange suitable training for operators. Evidence requirements 1.1 A report to management is compiled on storage systems, currently on the market, that are suitable for the types of goods to be stored, and the type of operation in which the company is involved. 1.2 A storage system is recommended, from those in the report, that meets company requirements. Range date required to be operational, budget and space available. Outcome 2 Select a stock control system. Evidence requirements 2.1 A report to management is compiled on stock control systems, currently on the market, that are suitable for the type of goods to be stored, the rate of turnover, and the type of operation in which the company is involved. 2.2 A stock control system is recommended, from those in the report, to meet company requirements. Range timing, budget, personnel. Outcome 3 Select a stock security system. Evidence requirements 3.1 A report to management is compiled on security systems, currently on the market, that are suitable for the type of operation in which the company is involved. 3.2 A security system is recommended, from those in the report, that meets company requirements. Range storage system, stock control system, security systems. Evidence requirements 4.1 The considerations necessary to ensure the most efficient sequence of events and timing of the installation are described. Range 4.2 availability of materials, availability of contractors, avoidance of duplication of work, identification of critical tasks. Suitable training is arranged for operators of the systems, timed to coincide with the completion of system installation.
