Facilities Services Weekly Update Meeting

1. Current Projects
a. Vangstad
i. Putting wainscoting, trim and finishing painting on lower level.
ii. Plumbers should be 99% complete
iii. Electricians are caught up- waiting on general
iv. Nick is the VAV guy- he will go through with Power House to show them
everything.
v. Still expect a Nov 30th completion date.
vi. Swampy is coming tomorrow to clean all the rocks from the front. He will store
at his shop since we have no room.
vii. Theatre chairs and everything will be cleaned by the contractors.
viii. Rick will call today to check on the curtains and see how they’re cleaning up.
b. Flood Wall
i. Going to be on campus Saturday or Monday to finish the road- the wind delayed
that a few days.
ii. Swanberg will come in to scrape, broom and clean parking lots before we open
them back up.
iii. Viking Drive forms have been stripped. Backfilling is starting. Hoping to have it
opened within 3-4 weeks. Potential to asphalt if time allows.
iv. If time/weather allows, Powerhouse can paint lines in the parking lots.
c. Wellness Center
i. Putting pre-cast walls up today.
d. Heat Plant
i. Tomorrow at 2pm there’s a meeting to discuss design.
ii. 4th house contracts are out- should have better read of all that next week.
e. Housing

a. Fire drills in academic buildings today at 10am.
b. Our student security positions will be starting training soon as well.

a. Working on a major space upload.

a. Vacancy Updates
i. Both positions were approved by Cabinet. Rick can officially offer now.

7. Maintenance
a. Vacancy Updates
i. Going through scoring sheets this week. Will try to interview the end of this
week or beginning of next week.

8. Power House
a. Getting heat up and running. Fieldhouse could potentially be up today.
b. Still having some issues with Climate Control- will take some time to figure them out.
c. Rotating shifts start this weekend now that boilers are up.
9. Other
a. Ron needs the hour meter reading off the 2 lawn mowers from Kevin T.
b. Anyone who needs new equipment- please get to Ron by our Wednesday meeting of
next week.
c. Kevin has contacted 2 businesses to get quotes on the V plow for the truck.
d. Wesley- thank you to everyone for all the work our department does. He’s watched
many set up/tear downs since he’s started and understands the work involved and
thanks us for it.
e. Kevin T is wondering about getting the blue truck getting fixed. We can remind Terry but
it’s up to DOT to make the decision.
