COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course builds upon basic skills introduced in Art 138. Students will build more complex figures in clay in greater
detail and/or scale. Students will utilize a larger range of techniques when approaching the figure. Students will formalize
skills introduced in Art 138 and develop new skills, including an introduction to molds. Students will select clay bodies as
a part of choosing their sculptural outcome. Working from the live model, students will continue to examine and discuss
social/cultural sources of figurative images.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the course the student will be able to:
Demonstrate and elaborate skills based on what they learned in ART 138.
Utilize basic skills in the use of molds in the sculpture process.
Employ a proficient level of ability to identify, use, and apply correct anatomical rendering in figurative sculpture
