COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course offers a comprehensive approach to building the figure in clay. Students will explore a range of
approaches to the figure, investigating different clay bodies and building techniques, working from the live
model, and utilizing varied sources of cultural and personal images.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the course the student will be able to:
Identify, use and apply correct anatomical references in figurative sculpture
Accurately reproduce, develop and create clay sculpture from the live model
Recognize, discuss and evaluate 3D design issues and esthetics
Demonstrate basic skills in constructing the figure in clay
