Third Grade
Third grade students explored how to convert
fractions and decimals to a percent. They also
used different strategies to find percent discounts
off of items. Next week the class will be learning
how to use estimates to divide and multiply multidigit decimals.
Fourth Grade
Fourth grade students investigated coordinate
grids this week. They explored how changes in
the x or y-axis values impact a point on the grid.
Later in the week students plotted triangles and
parallelograms on the grid. They then found the
area of those shapes using formulas.
Fifth Grade
Fifth grade students explored probability tree
diagrams and used them to create an original
game. They also found the fraction and
percentage of winning and losing the games.
Next week students will be starting a new unit on
rates and ratios.
