Math Replacement News March 18th, 2016 Third Grade Third grade students explored how to convert fractions and decimals to a percent. They also used different strategies to find percent discounts off of items. Next week the class will be learning how to use estimates to divide and multiply multidigit decimals. Fourth Grade Fourth grade students investigated coordinate grids this week. They explored how changes in the x or y-axis values impact a point on the grid. Later in the week students plotted triangles and parallelograms on the grid. They then found the area of those shapes using formulas. Fifth Grade Fifth grade students explored probability tree diagrams and used them to create an original game. They also found the fraction and percentage of winning and losing the games.
