May 3, 2016 Dear Churchville Parents, A SPECIAL Peek into Fifth Grade • • • • • Literacy – The last unit of study will be reading and writing poetry. Math – Our next module covers dividing decimals and fractions. Social Studies – We will wrap up the year with the Civil War. Life Science – The last strand of science that we study closely ties into information we learned at Lorado Taft. Students will learn about Vertebrates and Invertebrates, Interactions in Ecosystems, How Energy Moves in an Ecosystem, How Living Things Survive and Change, and How Body Systems Work Together. Our Human Growth and Development unit begins on May 23. Topics include puberty and the reproductive systems.
