POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Systems Software Architect Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional Support L (TS) JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for directing, designing, implementing, and managing Enterprise software solutions which include Enterprise databases, custom applications, mobile applications (apps), and data analytics. This position leads the implementation of software infrastructure projects and people, proposing and implementing strategy and controls to maximize availability and minimize costs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 1. Direct the planning, budgeting, and operations of the Applications and Analytics department. Responsible for strategic and operational planning to achieve organizational and departmental goals by prioritizing custom application initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future applications and databases across the organization. 20% 2. Provide technical leadership for the Applications and Analytics department. Serve as a technical resource to departments regarding custom applications, reporting, and data analytics. Support users by answering questions, offering solutions for continuous improvement of processes and services. 20% 3. Design, implement, and manage enterprise database systems. Plan and implement Disaster Recovery strategies and participate in annual Disaster Recovery testing. 20% 4. Provide direction and guidance to developers on improving and securing custom applications and solutions. Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures. 10% 5. Review and approve custom application software solutions, code structure, and data structure designed by developers and analysts. 10% 6. Provide personnel management activities of assigned staff; including recommendation for employment, supervision, orientation, performance evaluation and guidance and support concerning professional development; mentor and train staff on policy and procedures. 10% 7.
