POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Maintenance Worker I Non-Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Skilled Trades B JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled general maintenance tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 60% 1. Perform a variety of unskilled to semi-skilled general maintenance activities, including maintenance on mechanical systems, electrical systems, landscaping maintenance and any other areas where assistance is required. 2. Clean, maintain and perform necessary repairs, as needed, on assigned equipment and machinery. 20% 3. May transport equipment, co-workers and material/supplies within the College district. 5% 4. Assist with general maintenance inspections; report findings and perform maintenance repairs as needed district-wide. 5% 5. Respond to ad-hoc service calls; coordinate set-up of events. 5% 6. Other duties as assigned. 5% REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager Assigned ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations. EXPERIENCE: On the job training. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES: Valid Texas driver’s license and eligible for insurability. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Ability to understand oral and written instructions and apply basic skills in arithmetic. Familiarization with standard maintenance equipment and machines. 2. Equipment Used: Lawn mower, electric tools and other tools associated with the general maintenance activities.
