POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE; FLSA STATUS: Coordinator Finance Coordinator Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: D JOB SUMMARY: Identify, develop, and maintain a variety of instructional data and analyses for staff and clients in support of planning, resource allocation, and decision making efforts. Evaluate and examine data from Budget, Financial Services, and Human Resources. Serve as liaison in communicating with Vice-Presidents, Deans, Directors and other budget heads in the planning of instructional and related programs District-wide. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 50% 1. Identify, develop, and maintain a variety of instructional data and analyses for staff and clients in support of planning, resource allocation, and decision making efforts. Provide support to the instructional programs of the District by developing, coordinating, monitoring, designing, compiling, and auditing for accuracy of reports, budgets, cost analysis, and/or other various projects that will be used in the decision making process. Review, ensure accuracy, and expedite all paper flow relating to finances from instructional areas for appropriate action. 2. Coordinate with all instructional support areas to establish and implement shortand long-term plans, goals, and objectives for departmental and District-wide operations. 20% 3. Responsible for tracking personnel activities as it relates to instructional programs and ensuring that all expenditures are accountable and meet the budget criteria. 20% 4. Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate internal and District procedures related to the instructional areas. Ensure the District policies and procedures and other applicable laws and regulations are used to guide the operational activities of the Vice-Presidents, Deans, Directors and other budget heads. 5% 5. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experienced with report generation and presentation of complex statistical information. Good knowledge of current modern principles, practices and methods of accounting. Internal accounting controls, budgeting, fund accounting, generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of financial analysis, budget planning, computerized accounting and software applications. Coordinate work activities and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, and administrators. 2. Software Used: Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, & NT; Microsoft Office, Excel, Access; Email software, Banner 2000.
