JOB SUMMARY: Direct and manage all technical and instructional support services and act as administrative head of Academic Computing Services and Web Development. Provide leadership, direction and planning for instructional technology services to include District-wide Academic Computing
Services and Web Development.

Oversee district-wide College instructional technology facilities such as district wide ACS labs, Web Development or related areas. Supervise computer center operations; ensure appropriate and consistent services are provided; plan equipment maintenance and respond to user requests for special services and events. Evaluate lab usage, capacity, technical systems performance, security considerations, and implement upgrades as warranted.

Manage and provide technical leadership and guidance to ACS and Web
Development employees, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations; address and resolve any issues. Hire, coach, review, and supervise assigned employees and ensure appropriate scheduling.

Oversee and provide technical direction of staff providing web development services. Coordinate the implementation of web projects, all aspects of navigation and production. Analyze functional processes, provide help to design web based solutions and help implement critical web applications and systems.

Review technical specifications and purchase hardware, software, and other technology; check budget, obtain quotes, create purchase requisitions, receive shipments and catalog departmental assets. Manage hardware, software and peripheral inventories.

Work with departments, offices, and faculty to ensure that appropriate instructional technologies are available to meet the current technical needs; assess additional needs for computer hardware and software. Provide expertise in a variety of technologies and equipment used to support instruction and student services.

Oversee software and application technical support include introductory and advanced training, configuration, disk imaging, user documentation, as well as working with end-users in solving problems.

Work with other departments to coordinate support services and special projects; assist with long-range planning. Develop and execute long-term technical plans and manage acquisition of appropriate equipment and services.

Plan and direct technical implementation of internal and external web applications, ensure security of website for internal and external customers. Oversee and maintain web development budget. Approve web application purchases and hiring consultants for web development projects when needed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Information Systems or related field.

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years related experience managing technology services and projects, two years of management experience supervising staff, and two years of project management experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Skills/Abilities :
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, media production applications (e.g.
Final Cut, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.), visual design software (Microsoft Visio) and project management tools (Microsoft Project.
Must be able to manage technology projects, develop and manage Service Level
Agreements, implement instructional & training methodologies, manage technical staff, and provide excellent customer service.
Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow through.
Conducting research, analysis, audits, and quality assurance in relation to administrating technology support.
Ability to communicate with diverse groups; meet deadlines and schedules.
Experience in developing long-range improvement plans
Ability to work with detailed information/data; and planning, designing and implementing equipment installation and staff training.
Skills in designing and building web solutions incorporating from concept and requirements to production.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including tact and diplomacy.

Equipment Used: Must have in-depth knowledge of major PC hardware, exposure to various operating systems (e.g. Windows, Mac OS, etc) and peripherals such as scanners, USB drives, printers, and other equipment associated with a general office environment.
