POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Procurement Clerk Non-Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Classified B JOB SUMMARY: Provide general clerical office support. Greets clients and visitors, performs and completes duties assigned, including word processing, data entry, mail sorting, and delivery, prints copies, mailing labels and other information related to the Center’s activities and operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs computer and data entry operations for establishing client database and bid matching of solicitations. YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 20% 2. Assists in composing and preparing correspondence on routine matters to include letters, memorandums, reports and program fliers or seminar announcements from drafts or other sources. 10% 3. Receives and sorts incoming and outgoing mail. 10% 4. Greets and provides information to clients, prospective clients and to the general public. Maintains a current reading folder for staff to peruse. 5. Maintains current lists of clients by updating information related to awards, bid matches and counseling/follow-up sessions. 10% 6. Helps to maintain the Center’s library and updates the available resources. Orders materials from source and reviews in order to discard dated information. 10% 7. Must be able to communicate effectively (both orally and written), and strong organizational skills. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer, fax, telephone, copier, and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others. WORKING CONDITIONS: Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
