You can: Set reminders for your appointments. Specify how your calendar looks to others by designating the time an appointment takes as busy, free, tentative or out of office (see below) Schedule recurring appointments 5 Meetings A meeting is an appointment to which you invite people or reserve resources. You can: Create and send meeting requests Reserve resources When you create a meeting, you identify the people to invite and the resources to reserve, and you pick a meeting time. Responses to your meeting request appear in your Inbox. outlook2007-calendar-entries.docx Confidential Page 2 of 3 UCL INFORMATION SERVICES DIVISION IT FOR SLMS 6 Events (“All Day Event”) All day events can be used when you want to make a note of something that is happening on a particular day or on series of days (eg a colleague’s annual leave). By default, events do not occupy blocks of time in your calendar, instead they appear in the banner below the specified date in your calendar. Events can be used in the same way that you used “notes” in Oracle Calendar You can also use all day events if you want to block days out of your Calendar for entries such as annual leave or a conference. In this instance, you would create an All day event and set Show As to either Busy or Out of office. 7 Busy, free, tentative, out of office How block of time appears (“availability indicator”) in your calendar How block of time appears to others who view your calendar Busy Solid availability indicator Unavailable Free Clear availability indicator Available Tentative Striped availability indicator Available Out of office Solid availability indicator and shaded appointment background Unavailable outlook2007-calendar-entries.docx Confidential Page 3 of 3
