3 Introduction
This document explains the different types of entries you can set up in your
live@UCL calendar using Outlook 2007.
4 Appointments
Appointments are activities that you schedule in your calendar that do not involve
inviting other people or reserving resources. You can:

Set reminders for your appointments.

Specify how your calendar looks to others by designating the time an
appointment takes as busy, free, tentative or out of office (see below)

Schedule recurring appointments
5 Meetings
A meeting is an appointment to which you invite people or reserve resources. You
can:

Create and send meeting requests

Reserve resources
When you create a meeting, you identify the people to invite and the resources to
reserve, and you pick a meeting time.
Responses to your meeting request appear in your Inbox.

6 Events (“All Day Event”)

All day events can be used when you want to make a note of something that
is happening on a particular day or on series of days (eg a colleague’s annual
leave).

By default, events do not occupy blocks of time in your calendar, instead they
appear in the banner below the specified date in your calendar. Events can be
used in the same way that you used “notes” in Oracle Calendar
You can also use all day events if you want to block days out of your Calendar for
entries such as annual leave or a conference. In this instance, you would create an
All day event and set Show As to either Busy or Out of office.
