EASTBURN STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Dear Resident:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services
has acquired necessary property rights and
permits to construct the Eastburn Storm
Drainage Improvement Project.
Blythe Development has been selected as
the contractor to complete the work in your
neighborhood. Construction will begin by the
end of June.
Construction will start with area 1 (see the
project map for proposed construction
activity) with the improvements at Glenkirk
and Woodwardia. Construction will proceed
upstream moving to areas 2 and 3.
Updates on construction status will be sent
to you approximately every 4 months. If you
would like to receive more frequent updates,
please send your e-mail address to Monty
Bissette.
To help you understand the project’s temporary
disruptions, some common concerns are listed
on the reverse side of this newsletter.

A construction inspector will be on site daily to
address any questions or concerns. Please note
that efforts are taken to minimize disruption to
nearby property owners.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION

Our goal is to minimize the
impact of any construction. The
designers of this project have
taken great care to develop
a construction plan that will
minimize inconveniences to you.
However, the very nature of this
work often makes it necessary
to temporarily reduce or detour
traffic flow and close streets.
We will help you locate parking
if your driveway is blocked
temporarily.

This kind of work uses
heavy construction vehicles,
including dump trucks,
concrete trucks, and earth
moving and trenching
equipment, all of which
are quite loud during
operations. The contractor
may keep equipment within
OPEN HOLES AND TRENCHES
If it is necessary to maintain an open hole
or trench, the contractor is required to make
the area safe with fences, barricades, or
other methods. Please be cautious as you
enter and exit your property.
