Eastburn storm drainage improvement project YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK November 25, 2009 Dear Resident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services held a public meeting for the Eastburn Storm Drainage Improvement Project on October 27, 2009 at Sharon Presbyterian Church. • The meeting presented general project information on Storm Water Services and discussed the preliminary design plans for the Eastburn project. Meeting highlights: • • • • Mr. Anderson discussed the design efforts on the project since planning. The geotechnical analysis has been completed, project areas have been surveyed, and design options have been considered. Utility design has also been completed for those which need to be relocated. An overview map of the proposed project improvements was distributed for public meeting attendees for reference. Mr. Anderson noted the project is currently in the real estate phase. Four project easement types have been identified for the project: storm drainage, sanitary sewer, permanent utility, and temporary construction. The remaining project schedule was discussed. The Real Estate Phase is expected to last 12 months. After completion, the City will enter the bid phase, which can last up to five months. Construction can last up to 24 months after a contractor is selected. Project updates will be mailed quarterly to keep citizens informed of progress. The meeting was opened for general questions. The citizens then broke out into four smaller groups to ask individual property questions.
