STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Construction continues for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services’
Eastburn Storm Drainage Improvement Project. Work is being completed at
Fairheath Road while the road is still closed. Work at Fairheath will continue
with a box culvert installation extending through the backyards working
towards Hazelton. Then installation across and along Hazelton Drive will
continue with pipe construction ultimately terminating behind homes on
Hazelton intercepting storm water flow from the Sharon Towers Apartments.
Preparation for the work at Hazelton Drive has begun.
The contractor will begin reseeding and working on smaller items next
month. When construction starts on Hazelton Drive, the road closure will
move from Fairheath Road to Hazelton Drive. This will not affect the detour.
The detour will remain the same with detour signs in place. During the road
closure, local access to homes will be available but vehicular and pedestrian
access across the culvert area from one side to another will be unavailable.
Please plan on taking other neighborhood streets for alternate access.
