May-June Intersession May 23 – June 10, 2016 May-June Intersession FAQs Who can register for Intersession classes? Matriculated Fresno State students, students who have been disqualified from Fresno State, students who are 18 years old or older and who have met the class prerequisites, and students who have never taken a Fresno State class previously are eligible for May-June Intersession. When will the schedule be out? On March 4, the schedule will be posted on our website: www.fresnostate.edu/cge/intersession When can I register? Early registration takes place from March 14 through April 20. Enrollment will be frozen April 21 - 22. Registration for classes declared a “go” will resume April 23 through May 23. Register online at fresnostate.edu/cge/ intersession, or at my.fresnostate.edu or in person at Continuing and Global Education, Kremen Education Building, Room 130. We’re open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Will an Intersession class count toward my degree? Intersession classes earn resident credit. Ask your advisor if the class will meet your specific degree requirements. Are Intersession classes different than regular semester courses? Intersession courses cover the same amount of material as a regular semester course—in a much, much shorter timeframe. In a 16-week semester, you are expected to study approximately two hours for every one hour of class. During Intersession, you are essentially working full-time on the course. Timing of discussion forums, quizzes and other assignments aim to keep the whole class moving forward together. You will not be able to succeed in Intersession courses if you don’t keep up or are planning a long vacation. You must devote significant time each day to complete an Intersession course. How much are the fees and when are they due? Fees are $290 per unit and are due on April 20. For enrollments on or after April 23, fees are due at the time of registration. Beginning April 23, non-payment of fees cancels your online registration within 24 hours. Payment of fees holds your place in class. Can I use Financial Aid during May-June Intersession? Financial aid may be available for matriculated students enrolled in a minimum of six units during the summer (May/June Intersession & Summer Session combined). Summer Interest Forms will be available in the Financial Aid Office beginning April 4 and must be submitted by May 6. Questions? Please check with the Financial Aid Office. What is the chance of my course being cancelled? If a class has insufficient enrollment, it will be cancelled. On April 23, the list of cancelled classes will be posted on the Continuing and Global Education website: fresnostate.edu/cge/intersession. If your class is cancelled, you may enroll in a different Intersession class, or you will receive an automatic refund. When will my grade be posted? Grades can be accessed after June 20, 2016, at my.fresnostate.edu What student services will be in operation during Intersession? The Kennel Bookstore, Madden Library, Health and Psychological Services and some Food Court restaurants will be open, but perhaps with reduced hours. Parking permits are required.
